Job description

• Performing laboratory tests on patient samples to diagnose and monitor medical conditions.
• Conducting laboratory tests: Biochemists perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including blood tests, urine tests, and other tests on patient samples to diagnose and monitor medical conditions.
  
• Analyzing test results: Biochemists analyze test results and interpret the data to identify any abnormalities or medical conditions.
  
• Maintaining laboratory equipment: Biochemists are responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and producing accurate results.
  
• Developing and validating laboratory methods: Biochemists develop and validate laboratory methods to ensure that the tests performed are accurate and reliable.
  
• Communicating results: Biochemists communicate test results to healthcare providers and other members of the healthcare team to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  
•  Participating in research: Biochemists may participate in research projects to develop new laboratory tests or improve existing ones.
